Barnsley Festival a wonderful weekend
Back in March Hedley, Carol and the BARF team put on a great weekend of acoustic roots music. Chris and Richad controlled the main venue stage for the likes of Vin Garbutt, Larkin Poe (picture courtesy of William Swales), Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman over the Friday and Saturday.
Priddy here we come
The annual visit to this lovely festival takes place on July 6th - 10th when Chris takes a full crew down to run the three main venues.
Guests include The Eliza Carthy Band, Jamie Smith's Mabon, John Kirkpatrick, Fay Heald Trio, Lucy Ward, The Young 'Uns, Les Barker, Dragonsfly and a host of others. However, the news is that they have already sold out!
RSPB gig in August
Chris and Richard will be helping friends out at Old Moor in the Dearne Valley on August 7th from noon until 7:30pm when Phil Beer, The Wilsons, The Demon Barbers and many more play the Voices for Nature charity day of music. Further details here

New Live Album from Roger Davies
The album was recorded at a
house concert in Keighley in September 2010 and features some of his personal
favourites from his previous albums 'Northern
Trash' and 'The Busker', along with brand new songs 'The Ghost Of Lily Fogg', 'Time Goes By' and a Yorkshire version of Woddy Guthrie's 'This Land
Is Your Land'.
The new album "Roger Davies: Live In Concert (Volume One)" is out now and you can order it from Sounds Good Record
Charlie completes 'Ghost and Heroes' recording
Well this may have taken a tad longer than we all thought but the final session was completed a week or so back when Jim Molyneux of 4Square put down the drum tracks for the album.
Chris just has to fine tune the mix then it's over to Charlie for production and release which is now planned for the Autumn.

Chris also found time to put 4 tracks together for the girls and these are now available on their new web site here.
SUMMER UPDATE
Young Acoustics take a break
We decidied to give the competition a rest this year and will take a view on whether to stage it again in the future. Thanks to the Music Room for their sponsorship over the past years and all those fine young performers who made the effort to take part. Good to see so many of them making their way on the folk scene now.
New web sites for all
Quite a bit of activity over the past few months. Charlie and Harriett have put together a new site for their collaboration here and are also working with our good friend ex-Kerfuffle bass player Tom Sweeney who has just launched Slingshot Music.
Roger has also neen busy and has launched RogerDaviesMusic so you can check out his latest details on CDs, gigs and videos.
Jon is putting together various designs and has put out an invitiation on Facebook to let his followers help decide which version should be chosen. He remains busy on the gigging front.
